I washed with Bohemian soap from Lush this morning, it is literally the essence of summer. Totally refreshing and uplifting, get a chunk of this for a lemonade sunny shower.

Designer Ian Coyle had a 1950’s letterpress and an idea: print a daily thought for 73 days straight. The project, 73 Letterpress, is chock full of great one-liners, like the one above.

After the shock discovery that my chosen toothpaste, ‘Tom’s of Maine’ - which clearly lists itself on the box as a cruelty free toothpaste, that is actually part owned by Colgate-Palmolive I decided to do some digging on CP’s current stance on testing. I found the above article on PETA, and initially felt a little uneasy about a company with a history of cruel testing is placed on a commending list. It seems years of lobbying is paying off as CP are a company in a spearheading movement to put a hell of a lot more man hours and commitment to research alternative testing methods. They have not tested on any animals in the past recorded year. Perhaps my PMA, positive attitude is taking over here but I consider Colgate to be taking a step towards a cruelty free cosmetics market. There is however a little cynical voice inside of me though that screams that this is still not enough!

WIP on my first screenprinting patch design thing? Does this appeal to anyone? Is this something that people would sew onto items of clothing and wear in public?

Ah wows. Big illustrator envy.
I absolutely love Oliver Jeffers, so seeing this on the television earlier was the highlight of my evening.
